Conflict Resolution/Anger Management Counseling:
The purpose of the program is to help participants learn how to manage anger effectively to stop violence or the threat of violence and assist in the development of self control over thoughts and actions.
The 12 week program that is utilized is entitled "Anger Management for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Clients," and is based on cognitive behavioral therapy consisting of one hour sessions of adult, youth, group and individualized counseling.
*Individualized counseling is offered on an as need basis to meet court mandated requirements.

Parenting Program:

The parenting program offered by CVC is entitled "Breakthrough Parenting" and is based on modern psychological research. It will show parents how to raise
self-disciplined, communicative children that are good problem solvers that have enough self-esteem and trust in what they are taught that they can resist inappropriate influences from friends in school and elsewhere.
The program consists of 16 sessions of standard curriculum. It's the most up-to-date, comprehensive and culturally sensitive parenting program available today.

- Interpretation/Translation services for limited and non-English speaking clients (Spanish and Filipino Dialects)

Employment Training
Services:
This program utilized the employment guide called "It's My Life". This approach will help youth prepare for transition to adulthood and into the workplace. Career and employment success for young people is rooted in an ongoing journey connecting parents, caregivers, friends, mentors, advocates, communities, schools and employers.

Community Service Placement:
CVC is a community service placement site for Alternative Sentencing Program clients. The agency has been affiliated with the Volunteer Center of Sacramento for over four years
as a participating placement site for rural residents.

Supervised Visitation Services:
Supervised visitation services are available for clients who are required to have supervised visits with their children as a condition of their case management plan for family reunification. These services are provided by CVC to address the barriers or access to services that are faced by many clients in rural South Sacramento County.

Drug Testing
DVD utilizes the Redwood Laboratories, which is a nationally recognized and respected laboratory for substance abuse testing. Drug testing is available for CPS, Probation, and other agencies that require drug testing.
